Welcome to the latest edition of our school bulletin! I am excited to share the latest happenings, achievements, and upcoming events that make our school such a vibrant and engaging learning community. As we navigate through the school year, I hope this bulletin serves as a valuable source of information. Keeping you connected with the heartbeat of Buckeye Elementary is what makes us a “Small School, with a BIG Heart.” Thank you for your continued support as we work together to nurture and inspire all of the Bobcats.

Good afternoon Buckeye Families,

It was so great to be back with all the Bobcats this week. I feel like everyone is really settling in and working hard. We are sending out progress reports today. Teachers are only required to send progress reports home for students that are at risk of not meeting grade level standard in one or more areas. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

We are ready to start our official basketball games for our 4th/5th grade girls’ and boys’ teams next week. We’d love to see some of our Bobcat friends in the stands to cheer us on. Games start at either 4:00 or 5:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. See the schedule below for details and locations.

PTC UPDATES:

  • PTC meeting: Join us for our January PTC meeting on Monday, January 13th at 3:30 to discuss upcoming events. All parents/guardians are welcome to join! We will be meeting in the staff room.
  • DINE OUT: Don’t feel like cooking? Come to Los Pinos from 5-8pm for dinner and support our PTC! A portion of the proceeds come directly back to the PTC, which allows us to plan fun events, enrichment activities, and general support for the students

STEAM LAB CHANGES

The STEAM Lab is working on a really cool project that requires cardboard boxes. We are collecting boxes of all sizes. If you have any to donate, you can bring them to the office.

ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE:

The attendance challenge is back on for the month of January/. We’re going to pick 12 more winners on January 31st. If your child misses 1 or fewer days, they’ll be entered into the raffle at the end of the month for one of several gift cards. Thank you for making learning a priority at Buckeye. Go Bobcats!

iReady Donut Challenge

We are continuing our raffle each Monday for kids that met their previous week’s iReady My Path goal. The My Path goals are 30-49 minutes a week plus two completed lessons in math. The iReady My Path is an important component of student learning as it’s customized to the level of each student based on their most recent assessments. The winners will get a yummy donut from Heavenly Donuts. Kids can access their iReady accounts and My Path at home as well. Thanks for working hard Bobcats!
