2026 Theme: Beauty All Around Us
Calling all Buckeye Union School District Students! We want to lift up your voices during National Poetry Month!
The Buckeye Education Foundation (BEF)'s 6th Annual virtual Poetry Showcase is open now and accepting entries through Thursday, April 30. All students in the Buckeye Union School District are invited to participate. Our theme is "Beauty All Around Us". All students in grades TK through 8th attending any Buckeye Union School District School are invited to enter this free virtual showcase event.
Every poet will receive:
- display of your poem online in our showcase gallery
- a personalized certificate
- a free book of their choice from a Friends of the Library book sale event
- and some fun small prizes just for entering!
Students can submit more than one poem if they want, but all entries must be submitted by April 30.
Our guest judge will select one outstanding poet in each grade level who win a “Poetry and Pizza Prize Pack” which of course includes pizza! Selected poets will be invited to read their poems for the Buckeye community at the meeting on May 20 of the Buckeye School District Board of Trustees.
We hope that your student takes advantage of this opportunity to pause and explore this creative form of written expression as they consider what "Beauty All Around Us" means to them. We can't wait to see your poetry, and to share it with the Buckeye community!
